hello again

As usually it`s been some time. No excuses, just procrastination. No specific aim in my photography right now so I throw just a batch of this and that just to do something. Stanislaw

I enjoyed each and every one - you certainly have fun with your tool. And your captions...
The one with the rock is eerily 3D, no?

Thank you quester so much. Nice to have an reaction to my input. The one with rock is indeed 3D landscape but you should guessed the secret behind it. Like the tree and castle theme. It`s the fog. I love the fog and don't have enough of it. Everytime it comes I say, oh it`s Hammershøj day. You maybe know. A Danish painter that was famed against all ods by painting moody monochrome motives. I guess you don`t have much of it in Israel. Fun with my tools, well I do have, again against all odds. I would love to have Olympus with superb 5-axis stabilisation and fast AF. I would love to have Sony 7IIR with it`s mega, mega pixels in a compact body. I would love to have superb Ming Thein fav a Hassy with it`s tonal roll-off. And a Pentax KP except it`s duck bill of silly flash. And a Leica M10 which would gain me free entrance at latest Hermes fashion show. And and, and. Still I stick to my GR with it`s wide conv and the doomed poor 12MP APS-C GXR m-unit letting me to use my obsolete russian, german, and japanese m and LTM lenses. I feel I`m not good enough with what I have so as Mies van der Rohe said less is more and more is less. I`ll try to be more prolific now on. I`m just to shy. ;) Stanislaw

Yes you are completely right about me and fog...
But still, the rock pic is a bit more 3D than the first one with the tree - I think that it is because of the texture of the rock, which makes it stand out even on the dry stubble, and that it is well in the foreground. Although the tree in the first one also makes its presence felt well.
Keep posting at the larger sizes, nice to see the pics big when opening them.

A nice moody collection (can't really call it a set). 'Red strap' is my favourite although I also really like the fogscapes. Interesting how we all hanker after new gear when we can get great results with our 'old' stuff. I think I need to spend more time with the GXR. While I like the A12 28 & 50 a lot (great glass and quality construction) I'm also enjoying the A16 28 -85 far more than I'd expected to. I do like having the DRC even if it is not as advanced as the GRD4 version and the sensor does seem to be a step up although the auto white balance frequently gets it wrong (but that's part of the fun I suppose - knowing your gear and how to overcome its foibles).
