Local public gardens

Postby MarcusEyre1 » Fri May 04, 2012 12:05 pm

Took these a few days ago at the local gardens. The last 3 were taken with an infrared camera, the first lot with GXR. All PP and framing with Picassa.

I find these very restful and quite artistic. 277 (waterfall) has 'Zen' qualities I think. The infrared shots are also fascinating...makes you think of snow until you see the leaves.

I really like #2, with the ducklings. Reminds me of the yin-yang symbol...even their heads seem to be tilted at complementary angles. Beautiful.

Nice series, I am fond of the waterfall myself...it is my new desktop. How do you like shooting with the oft maligned S10? Any real problems or shortcomings with it?

Nise set! #1 is awesome! Although I would de-frame the shots. Too heavy I think, draws too much attention IMHO.
Take care, AlbertTRAL

Thanks to you all...Richard, Ken, Genster, quester, Gab.....
bbodine9: Haven't had the GXR S10 for long. Colour still needs some tweaking IMO but the B&W's I'm VERY happy with....No major problems with the lens, small issues with macro focusing but just getting used to it.......Shortcomings?.....I don't really notice them, just try to squeeze whatever I can out of each lens!........
Albertral: Thanks for the advice on the frames, haven't been real sure about them myself.....may be time for a re-evaluation!!
Really appreciate all the comments made......... :D :D

Images R0027671 (2).JPG and PICT0204.JPG I would put up on my wall, framed.
I find them all rather excellent and quite original. But I particularly like those two.
