I'm sure the white version will be even more expensive than the black one ;)

hmm, makes that tough to justify the white, but as its expensive enough maybe all in!!? :o

Some of the samples look like they could have won Ricoh Forum competitions! :)
This one may have done well in the recent reflections - http://www.ricoh.com/r_dc/gr/gr_digital4/img/sample_01.jpg

Just a FYI -- the official brochure PDF is here - http://www.ricoh.com/r_dc/support/brochure/pdf/gr_digital4.pdf

I can't see the user manual posted yet, if you see it can you let us know? Thanks.

I think the GRDIV manual will be available only after the camera release date. Ricoh usually don't make the manuals available before the official camera launch.

Found about the prices: http://www.digitalkamera.de/Meldung/Bewaehrtes_und_Neues_in_der_Ricoh_GR_Digital_IV/7343.aspx
In short words:
GRD IV black: 500.- Euro
GRD IV white: 550.- Euro (that's ok)

Finale Question: Where to buy first?

What do you guys think about wooden grip? ;)

Grip replacement service

You can change the grip to one of your own choosing by paying a fee; options include wood grain, carbon, and leather-styled grips (all synthetic resin products).

* This service is only available in some areas, with a limited supply of replacement grips.
Information on when the service will become available as well as the countries and regions where it will be available will be announced on Ricoh's web site.

I like it, with a black body, I can imagine it will be fine in white too.

odklizec wrote:The estimated price of standard black version is 80.000yen (according dc.watch.impress).

Converting 80,000 YEN to AU$ for me equates to about AU$1016

But as suggested here converting from EU500 Euro suggests AU$670

I wonder which is closer to the mark. Big difference suggested. If I recall the GRD III was released at around AU$930 here.

An interesting sample is this one --

Full size image here -- http://www.ricoh.com/r_dc/gr/gr_digital4/img/sample_07.jpg

Makes me wonder how Ricoh dealt with sensor heating.

By my guess this would have been an exposure lasting maybe 1-2 hours?
Would that time be about right? Does this sensor used suffer less than some others?

Yes this one probably the best example of new GRDIV features. According to description, it's "Interval Composite made of 262 images, approx. 47 minutes of star trails". I like it a lot.

On second look, I think I'd go for the middle one with the carbon fiber look. :ugeek:
