I very well understand your nervousness about all that sounds produced by your GX100 ;) The sad truth is that the GX100 (a and many other older Ricohs, including GRDI) is noticeably noisier than the most recent models. G700 is not only newer but it's also build like a tank and many sounds are simply muffled by the construction. So don't worry, all these sounds coming from your GX100 are most probably normal. The sound you hear when you turn the camera from dark to light is most probably the sound of aperture that opens when you point to darker area and closes down when you point the camera to a strong light. It's quite normal.

It's quite normal.

:D Thank you Pavel, That is the important and I relaxe about the health of this camera. ;)

And I will study better the advices from Martin Setvak about intervalshooting.
I think, the GX100 is much more complicated than the G700.It has a lot of new features, which I have to study, Aperture priority mode, etc. It helps me a lot, that handling and basic functions are the same as in G700.

:? Sorry for reporting again my little problem: Since more than an hour I began to upgrade firmware, but after formatting memory card with the GX100, I must constate, that the Template of the memorycard has gone and there is nothing to put the uprade-elements in. I can recover the Template, when I formate the card with Ricoh G700.
I must oversee something with the GX100. What? I tried with 2 cards, tried with two computers, made fotos, etc.
When I tried with a formated by G700 and put the elements in (by the G700 created Template), upgrade failed.

I can live without upgrading, but the phenomen, that template goes when formating seems strange to me.
