Rui, I'm afraid, there is currently no way to add (upload) the movie if you mean that. At least not AVI/MPEG or anything like that. But you should be able to add the Flash (linked from another site), so maybe even the Flash video may work? But to be honest, I never tried that ;)

THe code for Flash should be as follow...
Code: Select all
[flash=width,height]url[/flash]

For examples how to link your Flickr set or slideshow, see this page:

Thanks Pavel!

I don't have the same options on Flickr, as in photos... so I just get a huge html code to embeb the file...

I'll upload to youtube and give it a try.

edit: Nope, only the html or url. Ok more to learn now, Flash? I really need to give more attention to film/animated image "world" ;-)

Perhaps a silly question, and sorry if I missed the answer somewhere, but how do I include the EXIF-Data? Thanks.

The EXIF data are read directly from the uploaded photo. If there is no EXIF in the uploaded photo (e.g. lost due to image editing), there will be no EXIF under the uploaded photo.

Make sure your photo editor preserves the EXIF tags during save operation. A typical problem is using "save for web" option, which usually strips all meta data from the saved file.

Hi there, i've tried to post an image, it came out fine on the website, but without the exif information. Do i have to send this as a separate file?

Hi,

Images linked form the other sites are displayed without EXIF. You will have to upload the image directly to the post (i.e. not hot-link it). If the image contains EXIF, it should be displayed under the photo. If the EXIF is not displayed, then it's most probably not present in the uploaded image.

I'm under the impression that this thread has been over looked by members & some new members.

Is 1024 pix the standard for uploaded images & comp images?

I'm accessing the Ricoh forum via a notebook of about that size (1280 x 850) & finding it increasingly difficult to view some images.

What's all this about the inclusion of EXIF data with uploaded photos? IMO somewhat un-necessary. The important thing is the quality of the final image and its composition.

Hi spylaw4 and welcome here! The EXIF is only required for contest entries. Id does not matter in case of photos posted elsewhere. But people usually like to know what camera/lens and what camera settings were used for this or that shot. So it's always nice to see the photos with preserved EXIF, which can be read and displayed by the EXIF reader integrated in this forum.

Thanks for the welcome, odklizec.
Also for the extra information. You are of course entitled to set the rules, but I remain to be convinced that even for competition entries the EXIF is in any real way relevant to the final image (unless of course you need to confirm that it was indeed shot with a Ricoh). Smacks of intense pixel-peeping to me! :geek: :)
(I am not BTW trying to be argumentative, simply stating my views!)
