GRrrrrrrr polar night

Postby riccadonna » Tue Dec 13, 2016 6:07 pm

Hej. Here two photos taken today. It`s 13 december, an anniversary of imposing marshal law in Poland, a cruel, snowy night when everybody feared that The Big Bear was just waiting on our east border to go in action if domestic forces could`t manage. And of course a postcard from Scandinavia, where some people imagined that polar bears were roaming it`s streets. As usual tough choice for photographer, which one to choose, The reasonable sharp but static one or the other , a bit shaken but more dynamic one. Up to you, friends. Stanislaw p.s. the first picture was shot in a dark, I could`t see the face of man and in the hurry AF went to inf. All in all a bit of luck in the failure

I vote for the first shot - that bear is on the move!

First one is a bit more blurry but the look of fright on the guy on the right is gold

thelps, One great photographer, I don`t remember the name, said- if you complain that picture is not sharp enough, then it`s probably not good enough. Of course he didn`t mean industrial, architecture or product photography needless to say. Another reporter said if it`s not good enough, then you were not close enough. Here I was both, maybe too close, a bit closer and I would`d get the part of the face. Once I quoted this " not sharp enough not good enough" on Ming Theins site to what responded- but would`t it be nice to have both things? He is known for technical excellency and is quite witty guy. Alas, often in this life you can`t have it both. :) Stanislaw

Yes, the content wins. The blurry guy is needed, works well, it shows his fright. Poor guy

thelps, I don`t have full size picture to show you but believe me, the beast is at least 2.5 m tall. You would be scared!

I think it was David Douglas Duncan, who said: "Get close, then closer."
