Cheltenham in the rain

Postby Iansky » Mon Oct 26, 2015 9:44 pm

We went to Cheltenham on Sat and as it was so damp and dismal I decided to take just the small GR, easy to carry and keep dry.

I wanted to grab a few street and general shots as well as try some different processing.

I am happy with the results and again enjoyed the experience of shooting this small, silent machine.

Sorry it is image heavy.

Nice colours, very luminous. Did you use a special filter or tweaked them in post?

A catchy processing, indeed. A nice job.

I am not usually a fan of unrealistic PP, but I agree with the others - this is a tasteful approach and renders the scenes in a very pleasing way. Would also be happy to hear how it's done.

Thank you all for the feedback.

I processed these in Lightroom then used Nik Colour Efex Pro to add colour contrast that changed the look and then the border.

It is a different look that I was unsure about as it is almost a mix between an old colour polaroid and a sepia but the more I look at it the more I like it but not fo everything.

Ian, how ya doing? The first photo has a feel to it and softness that is intoxicating. I agree with the others about everything being tastefully done.

If we had a like button I would click it,
I think I mentioned once before that you have a unique style and look to your processing, this is a little different to your normal look.
Last one is a good capture of photographer photographing photographer

Thanks both for the feedback, have to try something different from time to time!

Howdy Don, hope you are keeping well and turning out those magic photos of yours?

I do have to admit to not spending time on here - too many cameras, too many formats and currently tending to shoot mainly full frame for paid stuff and micro four third for personal with an occasional dash of Fuji & Ricoh APS for good measure!

Also been busy with daughters wedding (grabbed a few images on the day) but even though I have the GR with me everyday, I have not used it much but will not let it go!
