Lightroom camera profiles - Positive Film

Postby radon » Mon Feb 09, 2015 12:58 pm

Hi guys!
I'm just wondering, if there is some kind of Lightroom camera profiles that can do Positive film effect? I want to reach the same effect with other brand cameras.
Thanks for any advice.

Me too. Try vivid on my Leica M 240 and Nikon Df, the results are not as good as Ricoh GR positive film.

I found the Positive Film effect, with a bit of fiddling with contrast/vividness and white balance settings (moving it slightly to the warmer side), delivers thoroughly enjoyable results, to the point that I don't miss shooting real film anymore.

Up to now, I was not able to recreate the Positive Film effect in Lightroom, even using the famous film-emulation presets out there as a starting point. There is a sort of smoothness that the Positive Film effect applies to the skin, lightening the shadows ever so slightly, bringing the colours on the pinkish tone rather than harsh digital like green tones, that I've been unable to emulate in LR.

Incidentally, this is causing me disk space problems, as I don't want to delete the jpeg files and at the same time I want to keep the raw files too.
I might have to buy a bigger hard disk because of the Positive Film effect :D
