My RICOH GR all tricked out...

Postby paulyrichard » Mon Jun 17, 2013 10:44 am

I ordered the GH-3 Adapter and GC-6 Jacket for my RICOH GR last thursday from Japan, I ordered them over Ebay and they just arrived this monday morning. I cannot believe how fast the shipment was, it beats some of the domestic first class post I get in my country...

Anyway, I couldn't wait to get these accessories so that I could protect that lens with a filter and hood. The half-case gives the camera an even more readier grip and it sure does feel great in the hand...
The GV-1 viewfinder was bought on Ebay for just £49 and that was a massive saving. This finder has frame-lines for 21mm conversion lens and 28mm respectively but they only cover 85% and so the 21mm lines provide a more 100% coverage for the 28mm, it's a disappointment. I hope RICOH make a coupled finder like what they had with the GX200 camera...

I went with the ½ case also. Because it was a pre-order they threw in a RED lens ring & a RED leather GR neck strap.
So the ½ case was the go.
I removed the strings & threaded the nylon straps through the ½ case D rings.
I also ordered a soft case to use with a hand strap when I'm on holiday.
The ½ case is interesting as it will not accept a tripod, like the case for GRD ii, iii & iv.

Aah yes, it still has the shipping screen protector on until I work out if I buy a screen protector.

Hey 33', you got a lot of stuff free with your camera and very good stuff too considering the prices of it all.
I have a feeling that this half-case will be superseded by third party ones. As for the GC-6 you have to take it off to get to the battery compartment so I expect that third party ones will have the required holes for this sort of thing...

I didn't get the 1/2 case free. I ordered that from Japan via Ebay.
Only the red lens ring & red leather strap came as a bonus for pre order down under.
From what I've found with after market stuff. Your bettera off getting genuine Ricoh so it fits.

That hood and adapter tube look quite up-market. Better than those supplied with the earlier models. I have a weakness for those square hoods ...
What size filter fits the adpaer tube - I can obviously easily find out - just lazy (grin).
Half cases and neck straps are not my scene, but they look good I admit.

Hey Tom, the filter size is indeed 49mm. I think the adapter tube is nice and slim and still gives it a compact look, despite the hood. With the adapter and filter fitted (sans hood) it will still fit into a pocket I feel. I like these hoods too and it provides pure function before form...
The jacket makes the camera feel even nicer in the hand too...
