Seems all in how you see your camera. The GR can either be seen as a highly portable "flat" package that is pushing the original GRD size envelope to the limit. Or a bulkier package with hood and leather case that has the use-type of a larger camera. In the latter case it is approaching a slightly slimmer "GXR" with fixed 28mm lens. In which case it is truly rubbing shoulders with the GXR A12 28mm. The GXR is a tad more powerful in firmware but more aged in sensor and general refinement and can take other modules.

Certainly the camera can be "flashed up" rather nicely, I am tempted. The accessories give the gloss of high quality and desirability to what is already a very good technical product. Whether they actually help imaging performance is less clear.

If you were to make it into that larger package then there is still room for a GRDIV in the camera arsenal.

No problem either way, it is a matter of what is wanted out of a camera, a personal thing.

That viewfinder is an old zeiss one. This is an article on a jp website, if you are interested :) http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=ja&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=fr&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fdc.watch.impress.co.jp%2Fdocs%2Freview%2Fdressup%2F20130610_602230.html&act=url

The only "accessorie" I bought was a screen protector and gaffer tape.

Have tried the 21/28mm viewfinder - however it is not really framing 100% - I would say 80% only.
So there is no need for me.

I only will buy the WW 21mm adapter.

Thats it - this thing will always be in my jeanspokets:D

The GR takes the GW-3 wide lens. Pity. It would have been nicer if the earlier wide supplementary lenses had been re-cycled. Of course I have the gear for the GRDIII/IV and not for the GR where I might be able to see how well the GW-2 stood up.

Tom

Have you tried the GW-2 on the GR anyway ? Or maybe it doesn't mount at all ?

Made a special camera strap out of paracord with yellow lambskin and a custom bag as well.

Hey gnibur, is that a Voigtlander viewfinder your using on the GR? I would prefer to invest in a better finder for myself.

Yes it is a Voigtlander, It is actually much more precise for the GR than the GRD IV.

I bought it from http://www.tincheungcamera.com.hk
