Canon 50/1.4 is still a great lens. I have it`s little brother 50/1,8 too, a cool one too. I never tried 50/1.2 strangely enough they are not much more expensive then 1.4. Well 0,95 is another story of course but 1.4 is optically the best. Wonderful to use old RF lenses on whatsoever, in this case my Ricoh. I have some german and russian 50mm. Each one has a different character. The best is to take a portrait with them and decide which you like best. Doesn`t matter the resolution or contrast. Some are good for portraits, others for landscapes. As to Leica japanese copy, I don`t exactly know but they did call 50/1.4 japanese Summilux.
