Sigma DP2s and Silkypix

Postby CHICHORNIO » Mon Nov 29, 2010 5:06 pm

Silkypix does a great job developing X3F files. Because I don´t have to deal with NR (all my files are up ISO 50), balancing color and adding sharpness it´s a 2 steps job. And I like very much the outcome (better than LR3 and Sigma Prophoto). Any opinions are very welcome.

Colors are OK. Very film like, what I like ;) Unfortunately, I miss something in this photo? The left bottom part is somewhat empty making it somewhat unbalanced?

BTW, I found the SP PRO much better for Sigma files than Sigma's own Photo Pro. Even noise reduction combined with fine color tuning give better results with high ISO Foveon files.

Yes, you are right, but, it´s just a sample picture to show 3 of my main areas of concern in digital... (shadows detail, color rendering, and noise). As a picture it worth nothing, but it helped me a lot to get to know how the DP2s behaves in those areas.

Sigma soft it´s fine, but you have to lock the files or make duplicates to work with them! Unacceptable! Very dangerous for me because I only shot in Raw with no jpeg backup.

Thanks for your feedback!

Thanks "deejjjaaaa" for your crop! You can imagine how the X3F file looks like! Amazing!
