Printing B&W From GRDII

Postby jeffnesh » Sat Aug 02, 2008 3:07 am

*So* close to taking the plunge. I love what I read the handling of the GRDII. I shoot mostly B&W with a D200 but miss so many shots because I don't have it with me, or it's a "hassle"...

My head spins with options, though, and I keep getting pulled toward the sensor of the Sigma DP1 but worry about it's handling. That being said, I've seen so many more good examples of B&W shots from the Ricohs and not as many B&W samples from the DP1.

Some questions to help me out:

1. How do the images hold up to printing? 11x14? Bigger? I've got an Epson R2400...

2. How do the DNGs work with Aperture on the Mac?
3. Anyone using "Raw Developer" (iridientdigital.com)?

Help a guy of the fence!

Thanks in advance,
Jeff

a guy i know on flickr can print upto 16" prints from his GX100....so it should be no problem for the GRD2, I havent seen them with my own eyes though.

I'm printing 12x16 inches (30x40cm) photos from GRDII but I have to add that only RAW files processed in Silkypix. One need upsample 10MP photos a bit for so large prints and it's definitely better to have RAW source files. RAW contains more details with zero noise reduction and JPEG artifacts. And that counts in case of large prints!

The RAW files work fine with Aperture.
