Need help choosing camera.

Postby streetshooter » Sat May 05, 2012 3:31 am

Ok, let me start by making a picture so you know what's going on.
I use 2 GXR bodies, the A12 28 & 50 and the S10. I have the M mount and many Leica lenses but do not use any of it.
Basically, 98% of the time I'm using 1 body and the 28.
Let it be known, that's all I need and I'm now good forever.

The other body and lensors are for event work for clients or myself.
So, the question for you is....
What camera/lens in current production should I consider?

I'm talking just for my street work. Between my M's and the GXR's, event work is covered.
So this new camera would be for my personal work.

I have a sponsor so money is not an issue.
Thanks for your help...
Please post your thoughts...

Well Don, without knowing your budget is pretty difficult but, leaving at one side the budget and the final type of cameras, I think that there is a technology really unmatched at low ISOs and that make sense having one of those...FOVEON. I think that makes much more sense the DPs than the SDs but this is already a detail to be analysed by you.
What do you think about the Foveon render?
It seems also that the new sigma lenses developed for the DPs are going to be just phenomenal based on the 30mm already launched:

On the other "opposite" hand, it seems that Nikon has an edge with the new sensor of the D800E.
Although if your are speaking exclusively of Street Work...neither of the mentioned obviously...I think we should wait till May 10th...to see the "essentials" to be proposed by Leica...
Take care, AlbertTRAL

Thanks Albert. I'll let this run the weekend and then I'll explain everything.
