Most kind of you Gab ;)

the cards were just outside of a magazine shop (South of France) .... am trying to find a way of seeing or angle of approach that will satisfy me when i look back at my images so am not happy to photo very much at the moment but found this old card collection so gentle - i couldn't resist :D

all the very best - Kort

Nice! I wonder how our 'postcard' shots will measure up in 70 years time... ;)

maybe one will send to others from a Cyber holiday spent in their own living room - and the state will be happy as a few weeks away will only take 30 minutes to implant :( .......

Happy Days everyone ;)

I agree here, old photos is a subject close to me. I don't think we value them enough and I hope someone will value our work on these old fangled GRDs in 50 years time.

Kort, these are lovely moments frozen in time on a paper. Nostalgia breathes from them.
Hard to imagine anybody going through all the currently reachable gazillion-bytes of digital photos (of possibly unknown artists) stored all over the world to evaluate some of them. Better for everyone to print the best of them, put them into a shoe box, and let the descendants (accidentally working as photographers or so, hopefully) do their work in this regard in the future.

Much thanks for your very fine comments Tim & Peter ;)

... we visited a small historic town that we like very much the last week - it is a friendly place and even when extremely busy with visitors it retains a peaceful feeling. What surprised though - was the amount of people with digital cameras - people of all ages were busy snapping away but the direction they took - was all pointing upwards to the buildings around them, this is very nice of course - to capture an historic building to take home and look at later but i contemplated the many thousands of images that would have been taken in the time i was there and how they would have in the most ...perhaps all have been so similar any slight difference would be of little consequence - then i thought of the previous few days photography and following few days photography around the town with all the (many-many) digitals firing away at the same buildings and so breeding..... on and on and on of all the same - and after how many are deleted :? but this all made my head feel decidely scrambled so needed a coffee to relax

I saw one chappy with film in his camera that day - the feeling it gave me was good as i was most likely taking no more images than him even though i had three digitals in my bag :)
There are two rolls sitting next to my Rollei and a friend with the facilities to develop them - so the future still looks bright :D

Kindest Regards - Kort .

P.S - heres one more :)
