Winter Sunshine

Postby Wiener » Sat Feb 20, 2016 8:37 pm

A brief blink of sunshine under a snow-laden sky. The colourful boats fair cheer the scene up! :)
With just a tiny little tweak to the sky carried out in Picassa... ;)

I get all the blues skies, but you guys get all the dramatic ones with the stark lighting! ;)

A great shot Andy - lovely play of lines, mostly the horizontal piers, but also the vertical masts and rain streaks in the distance. The eye seems to be led from high mast on the right, through the lower one and on to center left, to the opening out to sea. All accentuated by the great contrast between dark and light, with the bursts of color here and there. The stuff that paintings are made of.

I agree Quester, the lines make a lot of this image.
The lighting is almost like mood lighting. Either Some natural or added vignetting there which adds to the impact, drawing the eye.
Reflections also, this image has it all.
Cheers
Tim

It was a good moment! Just driving past as the late afternoon sun came out for a moment...I felt something was there but this is the only once that came close to capturing the memory. May yet have a go at one or two of the others though.
And thanks, quester and Tim, for your encouragement!
A' the best,
Andy
