The Beach

I love this beach which is a 15 minute drive from home. The cliffs & trees come down almost to the water's edge and there are rocks mixed up in the sand. The light is constantly changing.

I need to improve my technique - please feel free to criticise.

Re: Roermond (GXR)

No 6 reminds me (of doet mij denken aan) of my time in Apeldoorn on the 1980s - more pictures of bicyles please on rainy streets!

Re: B&W with a splash of colour

Marcus, I appreciate the information above which does help. I wouldn't have gone for the KT version by choice but there was no choice if I wanted a new GRD (most of the 2nd hand ones had issues probably because the lens had tried to extend while in a pocket) and I'm getting used to it (it's a very d...

Re: B&W with a splash of colour

These are inspiring shots and great to see what the GRD can produce in the right hands (I bought a Katsuya Terada version last year as new old stock cheeply and am very much in learning mode). A few technical questions if I may. Do you use an optical view finder for framing? I see you stick to 'cent...

Re: External Flash for GRD II

I have the Metz 20 C-2 too having bought it after extensive research. It is nearly the same size as the GRD but because it only has 2 AAs to power it, it is not heavy and the balance of the camera is reasonable with it fitted. It also has a bounce capability, a locking foot and 2 power (aperture) se...

Re: Ricoh GR picture quality resetting itself to RAW

Kawaray,

Glad that worked out and I hope that you are enjoying your 'new' GRD - I try to carry mine every time I'm out and about.

Re: Hmmm...

Probably a long shot but my GRD & GRD II allow you to save pictures as sRGB or AdobeRGB...I gave AdobeRGB a spin and the pictures looked brilliant in Photoshop Elements but the moment I opened them in Photoeditor they looked awful. I'm sure there are ways to workaround this but I've gone back to...

Re: Ricoh GR picture quality resetting itself to RAW

Have you tried up dating the 'my settings' in the menu? If not, have a look to see whether the camera has been set to start each time it is powered in either settings 1 or 2. To do this, switch on, menu, setup, scroll up to start settings....if it says setting 1 or 2 the camera will always start wit...
