My white GRD4 arrived and I am feeling free.

My wife looked at the camera and said..."this is not a serious camera, what is this?"

The screen is very bright. It seems much more so then my GRD3. It's very easy to see even on very steep angles.

I was told that I looked like a tourist a few times at the Trans Gender Convention. I couldn't be happier as that was the incentive for going white.

On snap mode, there exist nothing faster to work with. It's is easier then the GXR A28 as the DOF is greater. At 5.6 or 8.0, I get like 1 3/4' to infinity. The scale on the GRD4 is not close to accurate like the GXR.

So, it's 0700 and I'm hitting the street again till noon....
Enjoy....Don

Wow Don. You with a white camera? No one will think you're serious! Great photos to start my day!

Great shots and perfect timing Don! Your images live up to your nickname. As someone who usually photographs more static scenes I always adore those who have the eye for the decisive moment.

Wok....Decisive Moment...my butt... ya wanna see the decisive moment? Get a photo of a cat catching a bird. Now that's the decisive moment. What I do is just observe and make photos.

Well, looking at the facial expression and gesture opf the lady in 06-12-0075-Edit.jpg - which actually is my favorite ín your series - I´d call that a decisive moment, too. But of course your milage may vary.

Nah my friend. It's obvious I'm a disciple.
I actually live for the moment....but I am truly honored you noticed.

terrific set Don. It has that certain je ne sais quoi which defines street photography in the US. How can something be defined by something we cannot describe? Maybe if I reproduce something I said a while back about Ray and his work, as it applies equally to you.

"........I look upon you as a chronicler of American people AND Americana (i.e. those unique bits and pieces which immediately identify; for the viewer, that what they are looking at is distinctly American.....even without being told. There is a certain je ne sais quoi embedded in these photos, be it clothing, architecture, street furniture, that lends an atmosphere of "America". Other countries try to emulate it and believe that by just putting "American" in front of "Burger Bar" or "Car Wash" or "Laundromat" and sticking a Route 66 road sign on the wall it becomes so......when in fact it is a sadly laughable pastiche. Our European experience of this desire to be associated with that unique American style also shows that one (Americana) depends on the other (the people) for that unique style that punches its full weight on the screen and shouts "This is America". Thanks for your pictorial chronicles, they speak volumes"
