Okay a bit late to the party but I think this is great news for the GXR system and a nice fit for quite some enthusiasts.

Not sure if I will buy into it myself given the manual focus. But will make it possible to largely extent the capabilities (tele lenses for example).

Just in case you did not see it yet, dc.watch.impress.co.jp published an article with some photos of the M mount module:
http://translate.google.com/translate?j ... 25847.html

It seems that the displayed module is in a very early stage of development? If I got the google translation right, there is no sensor inside this displayed module (it's rather a development mockup) and it was forbidden to touch.

I'm very curious about the module protrusion. It looks as if some more electronics have been packed inside the module? Or, and that's the most probable reason, the necessary electronic had to be moved to make some room for mount and/or to leave more space between the lens and sensor. This clearly shows that Ricoh originally did not even consider the lens mount module and that the existing modules were designed for minimal required space. I somehow hope that this is not the final design and that this protrusion will be minimized in the final module? ;)

I think you will need the VF-2 to get that focus spot on also.

Sure thing, the VF-2 will be "a must have" accessory for precise manual focusing. I still hope for some kind of MF assistance ;)

If you think it us dog-ugly, it could have been worse:

(this was an April fool's joke, but it may seem familiar)

If you think it should be full frame, it could have been worse:

The new Nikon mirrorless is getting the same sized sensor as the Kenko C-mount system (same as CX5 and R10)

I BELIEVE the new nikons crop factor will be 2.5 [m 4\3 being 2, and kenkos being 5.6] i think its probablya new sensor a bit smaller than m 43 but larger than the 2 point and shoot sensors 1\1.7 [gx sized] and 1\2.5 [cx sized]
