DCFever - warning, these two sets of shots will make you want GXR! Most of these were taken with high ISO and they look INCREDIBLE!

These are another very good examples of A12 power. The noise is very well controlled and lens performance is incredible. There is only small amount of chromatic aberration at f2.5 and virtually none at higher aperture numbers. People may complain about A12 price, but it seems to me the A12 lens/sensor is greatly optimized and A12 will get full marks in every review.

Are we really looking at ISO1600 shots? ;)

Stanley Young's interview with president of Ricoh Personal Multi-Media center and GXR designers:
(Goggle translation from Chinese) It's well worth reading despite the somewhat hard to understand translation! You will for example learn why it took so long to implement HD video in Ricoh cameras (currently only in A12), what is the planned durability of slide-in mechanism or an inside look in GXR design process.

It's very good to compare these ISO crops form both A12:
and S10:
S10 is of course noisy, but not entirely that bad!

Added some more previews and mainly, full size samples! If you don't want to buy GXR, absolutely do NOT look at DCFever samples!!! I mean it! Don't say I did not warn you! ;)

Thanks for the warning :D I was deciding between GXR and GX-200 and bought the latter last night. Must not go into the links if I wish to keep the camera

Wow! I'm very glad I dithered now. I very nearly bought a GRD but I'm going for a GXR as soon as the price settles. Or straightaway if there is a decent launch package. If I only go for one lens it'll be the A12 but if I can afford it I'll get the S10 too. I think I'll keep the DP1 because there's now lots of love inour love-hate relationship. And the A12 lens compliments it nicely.

I simply can't understand all the mithering in other places about this brave new launch. Who cares it if it isn't the most perfect camera ever made? It makes a great deal of sense to me. The results speak for themselves. And being Ricoh, I know it will be a joy to use.

Ricoh GR Blog posted some side-by-side GXR/GRDIII size comparison photos and GXR A12, S10 and GRDIII photos taken under the same conditions. The photos are small, but should be enough to evaluate the exposure precision.

I am quite gobsmacked at the size of the GRX after seeing the comparison images between the GRD and GRX. The GRX is only a little bigger. I guess this mean the GX300 wont eventuate?

Folks please listen to the Big Man on this one, OMG. They need to come out with a bit longer lens for me to plunk down the money but dam that lens is GREAT. I think I might just turn to salt or something. Out of focus paints wonderfully, in focus is sharp. It just looks like a fun lens and a great setup.

Do not look people, it is the future, you will go blind or something :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

Too big for my pockets but perfect for a small bag as part of a two camera system.

Yes Tim, GX300 is not likely to happen. S10 seems to be a GX300 replacement. But it may not be an option for current GX100/200 owners, because of the "upgrade" price.

Heh I warned you Bill ;) The size of GXR+A12 may be a bit big. But the body alone is not that big and one can easily carry the lensor in other pocket if the pocketability is a must. It's definitely much more pocketable system than m4/3, because you don't have to care about lens mount hole ;)
