New SilkypixForum established!

Postby odklizec » Thu Jan 27, 2011 12:54 am

Hi folks,

As you probably know, I'm a Silkypix fan ;) I simply found Silkypix best for my needs and for Ricoh DNG files. Not so long ago, there were two Silkypix related forums. I participated in both of them but then both forums suddenly disappeared. It's especially sad in case of Shortcut forum, because there were some interesting discussions. But disappearance of both forums was not the only bad news. The companies behind the forums were also my partners who provided me with some free licenses for our monthly contests. Shortly after disappearance of both forums, I contacted ISL and they agreed to continue to support us! We also discussed the absence of dedicated SP forum and then I decided to start new one, because I believe there should be one. However, it was not my only reason!

As you may remember, long time ago, I promised some enhancements of the RicohForum (like proper Gallery), plus an upgrade to the most recent version of forum scripts. Unfortunately, during the time, I found it a very difficult task because of number of installed modifications, multiple forum styles and the size of existing DB. So the only way I found reasonable was to do it from scratch. And new Silkypix Forum appeared to be an ideal opportunity also for Ricoh Forum upgrade.

Well, I'm happy to announce that today I finished the first part of my plan. Silkypix forum is now up and ready for new members. You can see it here:

If you examine it, you will get a pretty good impression what you can expect to see (as I hope, in a very near future) also here at Ricoh Forum. Let's hope there will be no unexpected surprises ;)

That confirmation code is an intelligence test in disguise!

Locked out until later... :P

Heh sorry for making it so hard! ;) The problem is that making it anything easier would open the doors for b....y spam bots.
