Postby Zavr » Fri Jan 30, 2009 9:06 am

Hello,
I got a problem with my GX100,
looks like aberrations, green and magenta contours along contrast edges on a picture.

Couldn`t find anyone who met the same problem...

Hi Zavr,

It's does not look like chromatic aberration. Well, it looks. But I think it's something else. It looks like a problem with CCD or there is a piece of something between the front lens element and CCD, which causes refraction of light causing this green/magenta effect. In addition, the image in range of "aberration" effect is somehow blurred. So I really think there is a piece of something either in lens or on CCD. Try this...

Point your camera to a sky or a piece of white (single colored) paper. Turn the camera to Manual mode and step the aperture down to let's say F8. Now take a photo and examine if there is not a dust blob available. Here you can see how it might look like:

Thanks, odklizec
I didn`t noticed any dust grain or something like that using minimum aperture and focus distance.
BUT. there is a wide blurry magenta strip crossing image on LCD (or VF) while you are pointing camera.

Hm that looks bad. Do you see this light streak all the time or only if there is a strong source of light (like in this case)? Some light streaks are "normal". But this one looks bad.

This strip stays permanentrly while using VF (all modes), if use LCD it visible all the time only in "MOVIE" mode, appears and changing its visibility in other modes.
