That's why - even though it is in portrait format, it still needs to be no higher than 800 pixels (but 768 is better IMHO). So the best way to reduce your picture to keep it in proportion with the original picture, is to reduce it by percentage until you reach a height that is within the accepted range. The width will also be adjusted accordingly, and will be well within the size limit. If you tried to set the height to 1024, or 1200, it would be too large for the screen, and people would have to scroll too far up and down the screen to view it in larger size, and loading would take longer.
Cheers, Athena.

Re: JUNE 2012 - UP CLOSE - whorl of leaf veins

Postby chrisa » Fri Jun 22, 2012 9:03 pm

Crop of a close up on a leaf - I presume it was hand shake that give it a little bit of a 3D effect... Sorry it wasn't coming out bright enough somehow, lightened it and reposted the image - hope that's ok.

A little question:For "UP CLOSE" I supposed, you have to zoom something from far near and not make a photo of little distance. Am I wrong? I am seeing a lot of focus length with 6mm etc. A bit late for asking, but I am wondering. And I think the quality of a photo, the sharpness will be quite different if you take the photo from near or from far.
